Fernando Menis completed his studies in Architecture in Barcelona (1981- 2004). After initially associating with other practices, Fernando Menis established “Menis Arquitectos” Architecture Studio in 2008, with offices in Tenerife and Valencia.
Menis serves as principal architect and/or co-author of a large number of projects. Some of the already-built projects are the Tenerife Athletics Stadium, Magma Art & Congress Centre, Swimming pool on the Spree River in Berlin and Presidency of the Canary Islands Government Building.
Menis was awarded the 1st prize in the “New & Old” category at WAF 2012 and “Special Director’s Award” at the “Plaza España en Adeje” project in 2012. WAF (World Architecture Festival) awarded the Best Future Cultural Project Award in 2010. He is the winner of the Spanish National Architecture and Design Award (PAD 2000). Menis has been invited to participate in the Venice Biennale and other exhibitions held at the MOMA NY (2006), Aedes Berlin (2006) and GA Tokyo (2009).
Fernando Menis is an Associated Professor at Universidad Europea de Canarias and President of the Laboratory for Innovation in Architecture, Design and Advanced Tourism of Tenerife. He is also a Member of Jury, Workshop Director and Guest Lecturer at Harvard, Columbia NY, ESA Paris, TU Berlin Universities, Akbield Wien Academy and for Architecture Congress in Switzerland, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, Croatia, Italy, Poland and Colombia.
