Pradeep kodikara graduated from the City school of architecture in 1997. While studying he worked at Surath Wickremasingha Associates, C Anjalendran ,Geoffrey Bawa and Nela desoyza Design Corporation. At Anjalendran’s he worked on the SOS children’s village in Galle and Katubedda, while at Design Corporation he was the project architect for the BMW showroom & workshop in Battaramulla. He worked at Geoffrey bawa’s Office for two years working on various hotel projects.
Shortly after obtaining his charter in 1997 Pradeep started his own practice from home mainly designing small residential houses.
He won the Goeffrey Bawa award for architecture in 2014 for Kadju House a 4 bed room boutique hotel in Tangalle.
Pradeep’s work has been frequently published in the “Architect” the magazine of the sri lanka institute of Architects, as well as overseas magazines such A+I Pakistan, and IA&B India.
Pradeep sums up their design philosophy thus. We strive to incorporate environmentally appropriate design in a manner that eventually renders it a distinct part of the architecture. A contemporary Sri Lankan idiom runs through our work, which are shaped by place, time, client, and budget. Today he works with his wife ,architect Jineshi Samaraweera, and established ‘Zowa architects’ in 2014.
