Sameep Padora

Sameep Padora is the principal of sP+a. Having studied architecture in Mumbai and in Los Angeles at Sci-arc, Sameep was awarded a Master's Degree from Harvard University.
Sameep is interested in the contradictions that result from the simultaneity of working in India where traditional rituals co-exist with our technologically networked everyday lives. His practice tries to occupy a space in between these disparate worlds, for eg. moving from extreme craft to mechanization as a mode of production, sometimes on the same project. The studio’s design processes are open to systemically incorporate feedback from various components of project building, with the end product almost contingent on the stages and inputs in its construction.
His work has been extensively published internationally as well as through the country. His Shiv temple project was on the cover of Architectural Review's September issue in 2010 and is one of last year’s winners at AR's Emerging Architecture Awards. He is also one of the winners of the Marmomacc International Award for Architecture in Stone 2011 and was awarded the Construction World ASAPP award for being one of India’s Top 10 young Design firms.
Sameep Padora lectures at various forums and was one of 6 young firms invited to lecture at the Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) Lecture series in London last year.
